Argh! The class or interface ’someclass’ could not be loaded.

   I recently was hit with a similar issue regarding class paths in CS3. In my case I was trying to access a “_classes” folder located in the same directory as my .FLA and after setting the class path to “_classes/” in the publish settings of my .FLA I was receiving the same error you are. The solution for me was to change the class path to “./_classes/”. By adding a “./” first CS3 then found the folder.

   Justen:

   Thanks for your response but I do not think it will help me. Mac OS paths are very different, and I need to add an absolute path, not a relative. e.g:

   “Macintosh HD:Users:johnharding:Documents:classes:as:projects”

   I have had to use the clock trick before on another issue before but unfortunately I tried it again with no luck. I have done some more tinkering and found for some weird reason is does not like the class path ‘ukmn’.

   What’s up with that? :(

   Hmmm:

   I have managed to fix the problem. But its a bit of a weird one…

   Is the a maximum directory tree depth flash looks in then gives up? I removed a folder from within my classes directory that had loads of nested sub-folders and it started working!

   Is this documented anywhere? Leopard only bug?

   It would be nice if Flash would sometimes give more verbose error messages. I once mistakenly put “MyClass.as” into the Class field of the Linkage Properties box, instead of “MyClass”. I scratched my head for about a half hour trying to figure out why I was getting this error.

   Like you, I had the same problem using CS3 on a Mac. I tried deleting the .aso files, but the problem still occurred. So I tried changing the modified time (by making minor changes to the file) and i tried changing the system time, and then i tried moving the classes around however none of these things worked. restarting the machine didn’t work either.

   However, Shutting down the machine, then turning it back on, did.

   I has this issue using Windows and Cs3 and was able to solve it by simply doing a save as on my fla doc.
